Phase 1 of Scarborough Junction Project Unlocks Approximately 1,700 New Rental Homes in Scarborough, including a Target of 20% Secured as Affordable Rental Homes

Scarborough Junction is a large, mixed-use development located next to the Scarborough GO Station. In its first large-scale equity investment in affordable housing, Building Ontario Fund is partnering with Republic Developments and Harlo Capital to unlock Phase 1 of the project and move it into construction.

Phase 1 will unlock approximately 1,700 new rental units, including a target of 20% of those units (approximately 340) being affordable homes secured at below‑market rents for 40 years. BOF’s investment helps transform underused land into a vibrant, mixed‑use community while ensuring long‑term affordability, supporting local jobs, and expanding rental housing supply in an underserved area of the GTA. The development will include community and outdoor spaces and an enhanced transit experience, with improved access to the adjacent Scarborough GO.
